Freedom does not renew itself automatically. It survives only if each generation understands it, loves it, and chooses to defend it. If parents and teachers fail to pass on the habits of responsibility, courage, and respect for human dignity, liberty can fade in a single lifetime.

This is a friendly alarm: don’t assume your children will inherit what you do not actively teach and practice. Tell the stories of sacrifice, guard the rule of law, speak the truth, and model self-government in your home, church, business, and community. Freedom is a gift, but it is also a duty.
